The large mosaic, created in 1995, which graces the entrance hall of the Slovenian Ministry of Defense building, is based on a design by artist Jože Ciuha and measures 13m x 3m.
The subjects are made with brightly colored “Venetian Smalti” in a captivating rhythmic direct technique, a hallmark of the Petris workshop, which, as early as the previous millennium, applied itself to ferrying mosaic art to a contemporary feel.
The piece entitled “Silver Ritual” presents the peculiar fantastic figures that characterize the production of this imaginative painter.
Visually striking is the vast iridescent background, also made by direct technique, which succeeds in masterfully capturing light and creating interesting reverberations thanks to the Venetian white gold tiles.
